You just had to mention this didn't you...
I got off on a tangent for the last few days and have been working on figuring out what the hell they did to the MDEC data stored in the STRs of the SE Lain PSX disks. >_<
It might have helped to have Sony's File Formats v4.2 (filefrmt.pdf) for the PSX at the beginning, but now its (mostly) down to reversing the 'non-standard' compression. @_@
One step at a time...
(I kinda' still need to work on a working conversion program for the PC-DC pvr files for Puyo so I can screw with that, but being restricted to the original texture's size doesn't sound like much fun and the amount of time and energy doesn’t help motivation of moding vs rewriting.)
