News - More BVUSA Love!

spider's last post rocked... but he forgot some more important news from our friends in torrance (CA) ...

NEW LICENSES!

1. freedom ova
2. galaxy angel rune (GAII)

other licenses we haven't mentioned on wow yet...

1. wings of rean (new tomino mecha ONA)
2. demon prince enma (remake of a go nagai classic)
3. wings of honneamise (<3)

i'm looking forward most to honneamise... that movie will never cease to amaze me. anyone know anything about rean or freedom?

    I've been waiting since maybe Sept. or Nov. for mahou to sub another episode. Wings of Rean looked like it had potential, but I was hoping for more to confirm that. (Art is decent, and the characters and story might be fun)

    All of the RAWS for the R2 DVD Rips are out, but mahou was using Bandai Channel as their source.. and Ep 2 airs 4 months after Ep 1 -_-

    Heres when to expect Releases:

    Ep 2 – after April 21
    Ep 3 – after May 19
    Ep 4 – after June 16
    Ep 5 – after July 21
    Ep 6 – after August 18

    Don’t be fooled by Bandai Channel’s Wings of Rean Page… after the first trailer the rest with ep numbers are 37 sec promos.

    You could always check out the RAWS, or the first 3 chapters of the manga

    I don't know if the trailers are still out there but you could check those out.

  • Oh, almost forgot... needed the promo art to jog my memory.

    I took a look at the promotional art for ’Freedom’ whenever it was announced, and my first impression was:
    Wait, I know this character design . . _Otomo_ Then proceeded to ignore it until I heard more things about it from others (or all of it was released).


    [ Otomo’s Work ]

    As you may have noticed I'm not exactly fond of the works Otomo touches (second comment) (or rather most of the works that he has a large amount of influence over). ^_^;

    Honestly, his works always seem to be something I'd be interested in. They always start out decent or great, but then somehow more often then not they disappoint me by the end. :/

    Maybe its just that Otomo works on projects that sound interesting to me but then I either misinterpret what to expect, or my expectations are just too high.


    [ Redemption ]

    I need to give his manga a chance, and I'm open to redemption, but because of my past opinions, I give higher priority to what I want to watch as opposed to his work.

    He won a few points with me for ’Memories : Cannon Fodder’, but its not your typical cup of tea. I’ve still been ignoring looking for info on the ’Mushishi Live Action’. And I'll need to give ’Metropolis’ another chance when I'm in a state consisting of more then 25% consciousness.


    PS: Oh, for that link to the old comment above… ignore the misspelling/typing of Makoto’s name in the header of the post (its spelled correctly throughout the whole post except for there >_< ). Also, if I could edit that post I’d note that it wasn’t just ‘Other Worlds’ but re-watching all his shorts that got me going. :p
