One more thing to add:
New Ginax Series by Hiroyuki Imaishi!
"Hiroyuki Imaishi, the insane animator behind the crazier moments in FLCL and Kare Kano, not to mention Dead Leaves, is set to direct a 26-episode show called Gurren Lagana (or GurenRagan), premiering in 2006. The story is about two robots, one tiny and one gigantic."

I didn't realize he had a hand in 'Dead Leaves', but it makes a lot of sense @_@;
And somehow despite the 'fanservice' (if you could even call it that), it didn't phase me, it didn't seem out of place I guess I could say. (If you know me, that says something, huh?) Though, its defiantly 'special'(short-bus-style), and should be watched as such.
