if you don't know already, anime news network heard a rumor that Viz has the international rights for Bleach and has not chosen to announce the North American license.

*Sigh* Tis a sad day indeed. I can only imagine the horror if they play it like they've done Naruto. God, I can just see them giving ichigo a terrible catch phrase.

Well, for that reason several of the usual databases haven't really been updated yet.
As for dattebayo... I'm not sure viz will go on a rampage when the time comes, but it certainly leaves db in the hot-seat.
Lunar has been struggling since loosing staff, so I guess we will see when the time comes round.

viz has been known to crack down when it comes to manga.. not sure about anime (they don't exact have as many licenses as adv or bandai)
i would hate it if it happens...but i don't really see what would prevent viz from licensing bleach right now, other than fan backslash.
if they have it, they'll probably wait until one of the big summer cons to make the announcement (me and weather boy were placing bets last year on what would go and when...we were surprised bleach didn't go)
